From the ice to the cloud.

The name Pietsch and the number 15 on a white hockey jersey.

I played professional hockey for Eisbären Berlin, Dresdner Eislöwen and Bayreuth Tigers. In those years SAP was the name on the Mannheim arena, and nothing more.

Jari Pietsch, number 15, in front of the goal.

I studied while I was still playing. An injury ended the playing career and started the switch. The through-line is data: as a player I generated it. Now I help companies collect, structure and analyze theirs. Based in Berlin, working across DACH.

Three principles about AI in SAP

  1. Start with the decision. If a model does not change a decision or remove a concrete piece of work, it does not belong in the process.
  2. Bound the model. It can propose. Posting, paying, and changing master data stay with people and deterministic checks.
  3. Leave the ERP as the system of record. What sits beside it writes results back, and those results stay auditable.
